Singer Lady Gaga says she is heartbroken for her jazz icon Tony Bennett, who is battling dementia.

The two artists, who won a Grammy in February for their Cheek to Cheek album, work with the help of a carer.

“As people that live with dementia there is no one else I would rather be in a relationship with,” she told the UK’s Monday night magazine.

“I am so lucky I can make music with him – his love is inspiring and his compassion so normal,” she added.

“We talk about everything – what we are doing, why we did it, what he likes and what I like.”

Bennett, 90, is a music legend who has performed with Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Miles Davis.

Lady Gaga is a pop superstar who has been nominated for 14 Grammy awards and has sold more than 100 million records worldwide.
